Born in Rome in 1963, he developed a passion for photography around the age of 14 and has never stopped seeing the world through the viewfinder of a camera. After completing his studies at IED, he worked as a photographer’s assistant when photography was still strictly analog.
At 23, he opened his first studio and began a long professional journey that led him to collaborate with major Italian and international advertising agencies, working for some of the most prestigious national and global brands. His work has taken him across the United States, China, Brazil, South Africa, and, of course, throughout Italy and Europe, following his clients.
With the advent of digital technology, he deepened his expertise in new shooting and post-production tools while maintaining his analog approach to image-making and a special creative touch that makes his style unique and recognizable. Despite spending many hours in front of a computer screen, he still believes that the most important part of a good photograph is what happens in front of the camera. For this reason, he pays particular attention to the shooting phase in all his projects.
In recent years, he has expanded his field of work by directing and producing corporate and commercial videos as a director and director of photography. Staying true to the passion for imagery that led him to become a professional, he is also working on several editorial projects. Now, at 60 years old and in search of new creative challenges, he is completing the construction of a new multi-functional space in the Castelli Romani, where he can better express his creativity and discuss about Photography.
He has taught in various schools and higher education institutions and regularly holds workshops and conferences on Advertising Photography, Still Life and Food Photography. Over the years, he has received numerous awards and recognitions, including a Gold in the Photography Category of the Italian Art Directors Club and a Silver at the New York Advertising Festival.

A 23 anni apre il suo primo studio ed inizia un lungo percorso professionale che lo porterà a collaborare con le maggiori agenzie pubblicitarie italiane e straniere per diversi tra i più prestigiosi marchi nazionali ed internazionali. Viaggia tra gli Stati Uniti e la Cina, dal Brasile al Sud Africa e naturalmente in Italia ed in Europa seguendo i suoi clienti. Con l’avvento della tecnologia digitale si dedica all’approfondimento dei nuovi strumenti di ripresa e post-produzione, senza perdere il suo approccio analogico all’immagine e un tocco creativo speciale che rende il suo stile unico e riconoscibile. Nonostante ormai passi tante ore davanti allo schermo di un computer ancora pensa che la parte più importante di una buona fotografia sia quello che succede davanti alla macchina fotografica e per questo dedica particolare attenzione nei suoi lavori alla fase di ripresa. Da qualche anno ha allargato il suo campo d’azione realizzando video pubblicitari e corporate come regista e direttore della fotografia. Non dimenticando la passione per l’immagine che lo ha spinto a diventare un professionista, si sta dedicando a diversi progetti editoriali. A 60 anni ormai compiuti, alla ricerca di nuovi stimoli, sta ultimando la costruzione di un nuovo spazio poli funzionale ai Castelli Romani dove poter esprimere meglio la sua creatività e parlare di Fotografia. Ha insegnato in diverse scuole istituti para universitari e abitualmente tiene Workshop e conferenze sulla Fotografia Pubblicitaria, lo Still Life e la Food Photography. Ha vinto diversi premi e riconoscimenti, un paio su tutti l’Oro nella sezione fotografia dell’Art Directors Club Italiano e l’argento al New York Advertising Festival.

Ho iniziato a fotografare a 14 anni per gioco e per il piacere di comunicare. Visto che la pittura e la musica non mi erano affini, ho messo l’occhio nel mirino di una macchina fotografica e da quel momento non ho più smesso. Infatti da oltre 30 anni vivo di fotografia. La mia formazione accademica l’ho avuta allo IED, dove ora a distanza di tanti anni insegno, e quella più pratica lavorando per tre anni come assistente fotografo. L’emozione che provavo vedendo apparire un’immagine nel buio di una camera oscura o nel costruire i miei primi still life è la stessa che provo oggi, ogni volta che affronto un nuovo progetto. Il mondo della fotografia è cambiato, come sono cambiate le tecnologie che i fotografi utilizzano tutti i giorni, ma quello che accade davanti alla fotocamera resta sempre la parte più importante di una buona fotografia. Anche se dal 2005 ho scelto la fotografia digitale e passo molte ore delle mie giornate alle prese con un computer, mi considero un fotografo analogico. Per questo cerco sempre di avere il massimo dalla ripresa. Credo che per un fotografo lo stile sia la sola cosa capace di differenziarlo dai colleghi e lo stile di certo non abita nei megapixel. Nella mia carriera ho fotografato di tutto: dalle automobili al food, dalle fabbriche ai microprocessori, dagli operai alle modelle. Ma ho sempre cercato di farlo alla mia maniera, inseguendo un’emozione guidata dalla tecnica e dall’istinto. Sono un uomo fortunato perché faccio un lavoro che mi piace e che mi ha portato a conoscere persone, luoghi e situazioni che difficilmente avrei conosciuto altrimenti. Ho iniziato per passione e sicuramente continuo per quella.

Painting and music did not come easily to me but the very first time I looked through the viewfinder of a camera, I knew this was for me and since then, for the last 36 years, I have been taking photos. Photography is my life: it is how I express myself best. I trained at the IED where I also taught and got my practical training by working for three years as a photographer’s assistant. The excitement I felt on first seeing an image appear in a dark room, or when creating my first still life, is exactly the same that I still feel today, whenever I start a new project. The world of photography has changed, and so has the technology that photographers use every day but what happens in front of the camera is always the most important part of any good photograph. In 2005 I embraced digital photography and since then spend many long hours battling with a computer. Despite this, I consider myself an analogical photographer. This is the reason way I always try to capture as much as I can during the shoot. Every good photographer has a personal style and that is what distinguishes his work from that of his colleagues, but style doesn’t live on technology or megapixels. In the course of my career I’ve photographed everything, from cars to food, from factories to microprocessors, from workers to models. But I always tried to do it in my own way. For me photography is the constant search for an emotion, guided by technique, instinct and experience. I am a lucky man because I do a job that I love and one which has allowed me to know people, places and situations that hardly I would have known otherwise. I started taking picture for passion and surely I continue for the same reason.
